Cocky Cat to Furrever Home

Hi people (and animals...and aliens).
Have you ever wondered if what your cat is really thinking? Well, I know...and I can tell you right now that it's not what you expect. Cats aren't really as innocent as they seem. There's a whole world of cats out there who are just looking for food, shelter, and a good time.

Curious? Well, you won't have to be for much longer. After all, curiosity killed the cat. Cats don't normally think gooshy thoughts. At least, cats where I am. I'm an Alley Cat. I live on the streets and move to the groove of the road. It's not exactly glamorous, but it's life. As long as there's food somewhere, and you don't get run over, you can say it was a pretty good day.

So maybe there are some pampered Persians out there who care for nothing, but I'm not one of them. I live a real life.

My favorite things to do are climb on top of buildings (my friends and I have contests to see how far up we can go,) sleep, and explore the alley.
And by no means am I owned by anybody, or any cat. I control my own life. ____________________________________________________________________
You know, I said this once. And I believed it. I believed I was invincible.

But now I'm older and wiser. Now I know better than to think I am invincible.

I started out on my buddy Felissa's blog (link in the links section). Cats actually seemed to be interested in what I said. Then, when tragedy struck, and my best friend furrever, Macaw, was found as a splat on the road, I went through a stage of depression. I no longer wanted to hang out with my friends, laughing and having cool Alley Cat adventures. I just wanted to be left alone.

Then, I took a bite out of some wet food that some idiot human put out for us cats and became violently ill. A human must have found me collapsed by the side of the road and took me to the vet, 'cause that's where I woke up next. Felissa visited me, and posted about me on her blog. And something amazing happened.

You guys actually cared! And a suggestion I've gotten a lot now is to find a furrever home. I'm beginning to think that's a good idea.

I asked Felissa if it would be all right with her if I created my very own blog. She agreed, as long as she could still write about me.

So you can see that my life has changed me quite a bit from that cocky cat I used to be. I'll post more when I can get the chance. I'm still feral for now, but I'm beginning to think a furrever home might be just what I need.

Purrs,

Shadow

I'm gwad you started your bwog, Shadow!
I think it's tough wife being a stweet cat.
I started being one, but thank goodness Mummy stopped that when I was just a few weeks old.
You know, you can stay in a furrever home but still not be owned by any beans - afterall, we own them don't we?
So I hope you can still have your weal wife and also get a furrever home!

I hope you do find a forever home, Shadow. It's a whole lot safer and you will have humans to love you and care for you.

Yo, Shadow. Ozzie here.

I used to live on the streets, like you. Then last fall the Food Source kinda dragged me into the house. I wasn't happy at first. But I find out it was warm inside, and there's always food around. And the Source is kinda nice to cuddle with.

I still go out sometimes, but it's kinda nice in the house. You find a nice person, I expect you'll get used to the easy life, too.
